Liverpool awaits updates as Iraola shares both good and bad news ahead of the Premier League match against Fulham.
On 11 September 2026, Andoni Iraola, Liverpool's manager, revealed the latest team news at a press conference ahead of the 4th week of the 2026-27 Premier League season as they prepare to host Fulham on Saturday, 12 September.
Andoni Iraola disclosed that Liverpool received good news: Bradley Barcola, the £123 million winger, did not sustain a serious injury in the first group stage match of the UEFA Champions League, where Liverpool won 2-1 at home against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, despite being substituted for Victor Munoz in the 60th minute.
The Liverpool manager updated on Barcola's condition: "We are still training. Barcola’s issue is just cramp. We will reassess his physical condition today, but it is not a serious injury. I think he should be able to play if all goes normally."
However, Iraola said the status of key striker Cody Gakpo, who was absent from the Atletico Madrid win, remains uncertain: "As for Cody, we will have to wait and see."
"Today, we will test whether he is ready for tomorrow’s game or if we need to wait for the following match."
