Fulham's coach delivers bold statements ahead of tonight's Premier League match against Liverpool.
"Fulham's coach" roars!!! Aiming to beat "Liverpool" at Anfield and secure their first Premier League win.
Alvaro Arbeloa, the coach of "The Cottagers" Fulham, confirmed his goal to lead the team to an away victory over "The Reds" Liverpool in today's (Saturday, 12 Sep 2026) Premier League match, following three consecutive losses that have dropped them to 19th place in the standings.
Arbeloa said, “We know we have 0 points. Certainly, we have done many things well, but it's still not enough, and we recognize that. We need to do better. If we want to send a signal, we have to start winning games and improve our performance.”
“I did not come here just to manage the team for three games or one month. I came here because I want to develop this team. My energy is fully dedicated to that. I think we need to send a signal today.”
“Today is the day we have to send a signal to ourselves. We have to win the game, and that must be a signal from us.”
Arbeloa added that the effective training sessions throughout the week give him confidence in a good result against Andoni Iraola's Liverpool.
“After each game, I like to talk with the players about that match, especially when we do not win. For me, they have done many things well, and we need to understand what mistakes we made and why we did not win. For me, that is the most important thing.”
“They understand that they are pressing well, running aggressively. We play hard as a team, and we need to become a team that is hard to beat. For us, we have to control the ball well and avoid too many disadvantages.”
“Balance is key. We need to defend low or sometimes mid-block. This is very important. We must always be ready when we lose the ball and know what to do next. That is what we practice.”
