Bruno Guimarães, the Brazilian midfielder for the "Gunners" Arsenal, said he was extremely happy after scoring his first goal for the club in their 2-0 away victory over Sunderland, known as the "Black Cats," in the English Premier League last night. Notably, the goal was scored against his former club's rival, Newcastle United.
Guimarães said, "It's incredible. I feel very good. Everyone knows I started the recent period facing difficulties due to injury, but I'm glad to be back, glad to be playing, and yes, I scored a beautiful goal. It was a wonderful moment for me and my family. I'm truly very happy."
Regarding the goal against Sunderland, as a former Newcastle player, he said: "It was a very beautiful goal in a great place. Everyone knows my past. I have an amazing history with Newcastle, but now I'm trying to create a new history here, and I've started off on the right foot."
Speaking about David Raya, the teammate goalkeeper who saved a penalty, Guimarães said, "Certainly, he is the best goalkeeper in the world. It was an excellent save that helped keep us in the game. The penalty save was an incredible moment. I think after that, we gained great confidence in attacking and scoring. Everything about him is outstanding. He is truly an incredible player."
