Its Over: Carrick Reveals Man United Has Made a Decision on Lisandros Criticism of Management

It's over: Carrick reveals Manchester United has made a final decision regarding Lisandro's public criticism of club management.

On 16 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Michael Carrick, Manchester United manager, updated on Lisandro Martinez's situation during a press conference ahead of the Premier League Week 7 match at Leeds United on Sunday, 18 Oct 2026 GMT+7.

Lisandro Martinez recently criticized Manchester United's board in the media after a 0-2 away loss to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League group stage matchday 2, citing poor management and disappointing transfer activity as key reasons for the club's underperformance.

However, Michael Carrick confirmed the issue is now resolved following Lisandro Martinez's apology and reports that Manchester United has imposed an internal fine. "Everything is settled. We've moved past it," he said.

"It was an incident that happened, and he has taken responsibility for it. As a team, we have moved on from this matter."

"For us, it’s not a drama at all. Everyone trained very well. This morning's training atmosphere was excellent—very positive. They showed great commitment."

The Manchester United coach also confirmed Lisandro Martinez will be named in the squad for the Leeds United match and added, "From an outsider’s perspective, you might expect a big story or major dispute."

"But in reality, it’s very straightforward. We all understand the situation and its consequences. He expressed his stance and admitted his mistake. That’s where it ended."

"The atmosphere within our team is very good, as is the overall club environment. Although recent results have been disappointing, in terms of spirit and unity... as I’ve said before, today was one of our best training sessions."

"You can feel everyone’s determination to fix the situation and deal with it as quickly as possible."

"We fully understand what happened after the match, but we consider the matter handled and have moved beyond it. We really have moved on, and today the team looked refreshed, which I really like."
