Rooney shocks many by severely criticizing Manchester United players after intolerably poor form.
Wayne Rooney, the legendary striker of the "Red Devils" Manchester United, said he truly cannot tolerate it anymore and wants to enter the dressing room to wake the players up after their poor performances, having gone eight games without a win.
Rooney said, “I look at the fans and see the pain and anger on their faces when those players just walk around on the football field. It’s very frustrating! At least when I played, I ran and gave my all to the team. But these players don’t do that.”
“I want to go into the dressing room and ask, ‘What are you guys doing? Is this how you should be playing? Do you really think you deserve to wear this club’s shirt?’ Because they play like they don’t care at all!”
“We see players who are emotionless, indifferent, not caring about anything. Some might care, good players dragged down by others. It’s very frustrating to witness this.”
Additionally, Rooney feels this squad is far from the level required to compete in the Premier League.
“At best, they are a mid-table team. But if you look at all mid-table teams, they have players who work hard, run, and make tackles. Yet these United players think they’re better than they actually are.”
“Unfortunately, what happened when Michael Carrick took over at the start gave both the players and the board false hope that they were good enough. He did well, they worked together, and finished third. Then the board thought, ‘We are a top-four team,’ when in reality they are far from that.”
Manchester United have dropped to 16th place in the Premier League after a 0-3 home defeat to Bournemouth last Sunday.
