Famous coach has made a decision after Manchester United approached him to manage the team.
Deschamps is clear: he is not interested in managing Manchester United after being offered the coaching position.
French media FootMercato reported that Didier Deschamps, former coach of the French national team, is not interested in becoming the manager of Manchester United, replacing Michael Carrick, who has struggled to deliver good results this season.
Carrick's position at Old Trafford is unstable as Manchester United has won only one of their last 10 games across all competitions. Previously, the club considered replacements for Carrick, including Eddie Howe, former Newcastle manager; Julian Nagelsmann, former Germany national team coach; Antonio Conte, former Chelsea manager; Unai Emery, Aston Villa manager; and Deschamps, who was reportedly contacted by United.
However, recent reports state that 58-year-old Deschamps is not interested in managing Manchester United due to concerns about the club's difficult situation, tensions between management and fans, and problems with recent transfer dealings. He is willing to wait until next year to find a new club for himself.
Deschamps ended his 14-year tenure as head coach of the French national team this past summer following the 2026 World Cup.
The former midfielder for Marseille, Juventus, and Chelsea led France to the 2018 World Cup title, while his team lost in the final to Argentina four years later.
