Can it be said? Robertson talks about Salah amid Liverpool dropping his name before winning against Inter in the UCL.
On 10 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Andrew Robertson, Liverpool's experienced left-back from the English Premier League's 10th-ranked team, spoke after their UEFA Champions League 2025-26 group stage matchday 6, where the Reds returned to form with a narrow 1-0 away win over Inter Milan, who are 3rd in Italy's Serie A.
In the first half, Liverpool nearly scored in the 32nd minute, but VAR disallowed a header goal by Ibrahima Konaté due to Hugo Ekitike being caught for handball in the preceding play. Ultimately, the Reds secured the winning goal from a penalty by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 88th minute.
This victory moved Liverpool up to 8th place in the UEFA Champions League group standings with 12 points, equal to Inter Milan who sit 5th with the same points, but Liverpool trails on goal difference (Inter +8 / Liverpool +3).
Mohamed Salah was absent from this game after being dropped from the squad following his harsh public criticism of the club and manager Arne Slot. Nevertheless, the Reds managed to defeat Inter Milan.
Liverpool have now gone four consecutive matches unbeaten across all competitions (2 wins, 2 draws) since dropping Mohamed Salah, who has struggled with form this season. He only appeared as a substitute in the 1-1 Premier League draw against Sunderland, coming on for Cody Gakpo in the second half.
When asked about Mohamed Salah's intense public criticism of Liverpool which led to his exclusion from this match, Andrew Robertson said, "This is clearly a difficult situation. We're talking about one of the greatest players to have ever played for this club."
"He has performed incredibly for us over eight and a half years. He and I arrived here in the same transfer window, and we've been through many good and bad times together. Look, whatever happens within the team now, we are all together, and that is the most important thing in the dressing room. I think you've seen that today."
"(Will the situation be resolved?) That depends on others, of course. It's not up to me, but I love playing with Mo Salah, and I hope to continue playing with him."
