Gordon Sets Three Fierce Records After Scoring Four Goals to Lead Newcastle to Dominant UCL Win Over Qarabag

Anthony Gordon truly impressed by setting three fierce records after scoring four goals to lead Newcastle United to a dominant away victory over Qarabag in the UCL 2025-26 playoff round.

On 19 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Anthony Gordon made history by setting three fierce records after scoring four goals to help the "Magpies" Newcastle United, a top Premier League club managed by English coach Eddie Howe, crush Qarabag 6-1 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 playoff round last night.

With these four goals, Anthony Gordon became the player with the most goals for the "Magpies" Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League, totaling 10 goals in 15 appearances since joining the club in 2023. He surpassed club legend Alan Shearer, who held the record with 6 goals in 10 appearances between 1996 and 2006.

Additionally, Gordon is the second English player to score double-digit goals in a single UEFA Champions League season, following Harry Kane who achieved this in the 2024-25 season. The former Everton "Toffees" player also became the first in history to score four goals before halftime in a UEFA Champions League knockout round match.
