Arne Klopp, Liverpool's manager, spoke openly after leading the team to an away loss to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg.
Arne Klopp, manager of the "Reds" Liverpool, said his players had many chances but could not convert them into goals, ultimately losing 0-1 away to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg last night. He described it as a déjà vu of the match from three months ago during the league phase, aiming for revenge in the second leg at Anfield.
Klopp said, "It's like a very bad déjà vu because the result is the same as the game three months ago."
"But this time we played much better and created many chances, though we missed several. We were really good in the first 15 minutes but couldn't convert those chances into goals."
"This stadium is very difficult to play in, both for the players and the visiting coaches. It's hard to concentrate and communicate on the field. Galatasaray was very fortunate to have such an atmosphere supporting their team."
"Now we have the game against Galatasaray at our home ground. We have wonderful fans who always give us energy. They will show that power at Anfield and will definitely be an important driving force for us."
Liverpool will host Galatasaray at Anfield for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg on 18 March.
