Galatasaray's coach opened up after defeating Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg.
Okan Buruk, Galatasaray's coach, stated that his team might have won 3-0 against the Reds, Liverpool, in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg last night, after securing a 1-0 home victory. He emphasized that his team has proven that beating Liverpool was not a fluke.
Buruk said, “This is our second victory over Liverpool this season, and my players and I have shown that our first win was no coincidence.”
“We secured a home advantage, which was our goal. Could the score have been different? Possibly. We might have won 3-0, but our opponents also had chances to score.”
Buruk added that he is looking forward to the second leg at Anfield on 18 March and promised that his team will give their full effort, just as they did in Istanbul.
“The away game will be different, but we will take the field with the same spirit, hunger, and determination. We will try our best just like we did today.”
