In the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 Round of 16 first leg on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, the notable match featured Real Madrid, the "Los Blancos," hosting Manchester City, the "Sky Blues," at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

In the 20th minute of the first half, Real Madrid took the lead 1-0. Federico Valverde dribbled past Nico O'Reilly, broke free down the right flank, then deftly evaded Gianluigi Donnarumma before calmly slotting the ball into the net.
