Miguel Arteta, the Spanish coach, revealed the problems faced after Arsenal drew with Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League 2025-26.
On 12 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Miguel Arteta, the Spanish manager, disclosed the issues his team encountered after Arsenal, a prominent Premier League club, drew 1-1 away against Bayer Leverkusen, a Bundesliga team, in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 Round of 16 last night.
Looking back at the match, Robert Andrich scored first for the home side Bayer Leverkusen in the 46th minute. However, the visitors Arsenal equalized 1-1 in the 89th minute when Kai Havertz scored a penalty against his former club, helping his new team avoid defeat before the second leg at Emirates Stadium next Tuesday.
Recently, Miguel Arteta said, "I think we controlled the game well, but the problem was we couldn't score. Then we lost control, which gave them chances and the game shifted so they took the lead. But in the last 20-25 minutes, we played better again. I believe the equalizer was deserved. Kai Havertz came back here after several years away and scored the penalty to make it 1-1, which is a wonderful story indeed."
