Bayern Munich Come From Behind to Beat 10-Man Real Madrid in Thrilling UCL Quarterfinal Leg 2 Los Blancos Eliminated

Last night's result: Bayern Munich came from behind to beat 10-man Real Madrid in a thrilling UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg, eliminating Los Blancos.

On 16 April 2026 GMT+7, in the UEFA Champions League 2025-26 quarterfinal second leg, Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich hosted 15-time European champions Real Madrid, the La Liga runners-up, at the Allianz Arena.

In the first leg, "Die Roten" Bayern Munich took the advantage by winning 2-1 away at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium last week.

In the first minute of the match, visiting Real Madrid took an early 1-0 lead. Arda Güler intercepted a poor pass from Manuel Neuer and struck from outside the box, bringing the aggregate score level at 2-2.

But Bayern quickly equalized at the 6th minute from a left corner kick. Joshua Kimmich delivered a cross to Aleksandar Pavlović, who headed in from close range past Andriy Lunin, putting Bayern ahead 3-2 on aggregate again.

At the 29th minute, Real Madrid regained the lead 2-1 through a free kick from the right side. Arda Güler curled a left-footed shot over the wall that Neuer tried to save but could only parry into the net, leveling the aggregate at 3-3.

In the 38th minute, Bayern equalized again at 2-2. Defender Dayot Upamecano advanced, intercepted the ball, and passed into the box to Harry Kane, who feinted the defenders and goalkeeper Lunin before calmly placing the ball into the far post, giving Bayern a 4-3 aggregate lead.

At the 42nd minute, Real Madrid went ahead once more, 3-2, on a quick counterattack down the left. Vinícius Júnior drove into the box and passed centrally to Kylian Mbappé, who finished past Manuel Neuer, tying the aggregate score at 4-4.

In the second half, Real Madrid substituted Eduardo Camavinga on for Brahim Díaz in the 61st minute. However, Camavinga received two quick yellow cards: the first at 78 minutes for a foul on Jamal Musiala, and the second at 86 minutes for time-wasting, resulting in a red card and his dismissal.

Then at the 89th minute, Bayern equalized 3-3 through Luis Díaz, who combined with Jamal Musiala before shooting powerfully. The ball deflected off Éder Militão and went in, putting Bayern ahead 5-4 on aggregate.

In injury time at 90+5 minutes, Bayern completed their comeback with a winning goal from Michael Olise. The match ended 4-3, and Bayern won the two legs 6-4 on aggregate, advancing to the semifinals to face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, while Real Madrid were eliminated.
