Wayne Rooney Criticizes Arsenal After Reaching UEFA Champions League Final

Wayne Rooney sharply criticized Arsenal after their victory over Atlético Madrid to reach the UEFA Champions League final.

Wayne Rooney, former England international striker, expressed his opinion that Arsenal players celebrated excessively after their 1-0 home win against Atlético Madrid, advancing to the UEFA Champions League final with a 2-1 aggregate over two legs.

Immediately after the final whistle, scenes of celebration erupted inside the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal players continuing to celebrate enthusiastically in front of their ecstatic fans. However, Rooney felt the celebrations were over the top.

Rooney said, "They haven't won the championship yet. I think they celebrated a bit too much. They deserved to be at this stage, but they haven't won the title. Celebrate when you win it."

However, Arsène Wenger, legendary former Arsenal manager, defended the Gunners, stating, "Arsenal deserved the victory. They were the better team over the two matches."

"They celebrated joyfully tonight, which is normal. It's natural to be happy, but what they must focus on now is winning the championship."
