Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, opened up ahead of leading his team against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final.
Mikel Arteta, manager of the "Gunners" Arsenal, urged his players to make history by winning their first UEFA Champions League title as they prepare to face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain tonight.
Arteta said, "We have reached this point because we deserve to be here, based on the style of play and performances we've shown in this competition. Today on the pitch, we must prove ourselves to claim the trophy."
"I believe this is an opportunity to create a defining moment. This is only the second time in the club's history that we've reached this stage, and we have the chance to write a new chapter in the history of this football club. To do that, we must play with absolute certainty, courage, and relentless hunger to win. If we have all three, I am confident we will come close to victory."
When asked if the team's ambition has changed after winning the Premier League,
Arteta responded, "Not at all. Our ambition is even greater. We've already won one title, and now we want a second. That's what we've been talking about all along. This must serve as a foundation to reach bigger goals and strive for better things. The team has the ability because we've demonstrated it over the past two or three seasons in this competition. I want the players to be confident that we will achieve it."
"This will be something new for all of us. We know how difficult it is for a club like Arsenal to make new history. That is the goal, and that is why we are all so excited and deeply desire to make it happen."
"I think the process and journey that brought us here is remarkable from the whole team. We deserve this based on the way we've competed in every match, the commitment, and the performances from our players. Today is the final game. We will go and win the trophy and bring it home."
