Haaland Regrets One Thing Despite Man Citys Away Win Over Porto in UCL

Haaland regrets one thing despite Manchester City's away win over Porto in the UCL.

Erling Haaland, the Norwegian forward for "The Citizens" Manchester City, said he should have scored more goals, even though he netted twice to lead his team to a 2-0 away victory over FC Porto, a strong team from the Portuguese league, in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League group stage opener last night.

Haaland said, "It was a tough battle. They marked man-to-man. They are a top team. Honestly, they were very impressive."

"I think we controlled the game well in the first half. We felt a bit uneasy when they pushed high, but we created many chances. I should have scored more. In the second half, we scored, and they pressured us heavily for about 25 minutes, but we managed to keep the result and finished the game with a win."

"I believe this was a game we had to win, and we started the season excellently. In the Champions League, you must win games because if you don't, you'll face sudden pressure and won't know what will happen next."

Regarding the debut of 18-year-old midfielder Ayoub Bouaddi, Haaland said, "I think he played very well. Over the past few weeks in training, I told the club president that he was amazing, so I think we've found a real gem."

"But honestly, I think he should have passed me the ball in the second half when I was all alone. I was quite annoyed, so I'll tell him here: he played well except for that pass."
