Rodtang Jitmuangnon Responds to Controversy Over Fight Withdrawal, Affirms Understanding for Ticket Buyers but Reveals Half-Million Baht Cost

Rodtang Jitmuangnon responds to controversy over withdrawing from his fight, affirming he understands those who bought tickets to watch but revealing the total cost for that fight was half a million baht.

On 1 Dec 2025 GMT+7, following the cancellation of the ONE 173 World Flyweight Muay Thai Championship fight in Japan on Sunday, 16 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Rodtang withdrew due to sudden illness. Meanwhile, Nong Oh failed the hydration test. Consequently, ONE Championship announced the cancellation of this bout.

Some fans complained that they deliberately purchased the PPV (Pay-per-view) to watch the live broadcast of ONE 172 from Japan at prices between 200-250 baht but were unable to watch this match.

Recently, Rodtang Jitmuangnon explained, “I understand those who bought tickets to watch me. But for that fight, my expenses totaled 500,000 baht. When I arrived in Japan, I really wanted to fight.”

Previously, Rodtang responded to dissatisfied fans after the fight was canceled, saying that he personally invested in every fight, covering all costs and was ready to fly out to compete. However, he had to withdraw because he couldn’t recover his body fully. If something happened to him, who would take care of his wife, children, and dozens of relatives?

All the expenses I paid to go fight were significant. If I can’t fight, I have to bear all those costs myself. Certainly, the promotion cannot pay me anything because of the rules when a fight is canceled.

Let me ask, even if you have a fighting career, can’t you go anywhere? Can’t you do anything? Muay Thai has its own training time. Which fighter trains just two hours? Don’t just type your preferences. Which fighter has a match and doesn’t want to fight? I’m a fighter who always wants to fight because fighters have no salary. If you only fight once a year, how do you support your family? Do you really know how heavy their burden is? Have you truly seen it? You speak as if you’re with me all the time. I wouldn’t mind, but don’t pretend to know if you really don’t. Just think about it.
