Thai national boxers competing for gold at SEA Games 2025 demand their allowances for the second time! They have not been paid for over three months and ask where they can find the motivation to continue.
On 2 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Arisara Nuneiat, also known as Mongkutphet Phetpraowfa, the 45 kg female champion at Rajadamnern Boxing Stadium and a representative of Thailand’s amateur boxing team for SEA Games 2025, posted questioning the association about unpaid allowances. She said it would be three months at the end of this month and asked whether they would receive payment, stating she no longer has the motivation to compete.
Recently, “Coach Pao,” Staff Sergeant Major Phongphan Nualkaew, one of the Thai SEA Games boxing coaching staff, demanded the overdue allowances again after waiting over three months. He posted a photo of a pile of medals, presumed to be from savings, with the message: “Please don’t make me use heavy measures from the start of the month. If you’re going to pay, hurry up—the three months of allowances have passed (this is the second time, dear executives). I understand government procedures have many steps, but have you forgotten that in less than two weeks we will compete at the SEA Games? Please coordinate and agree on a clear plan. Don’t sell dreams and forget our reality.”
Then Mongkutphet Phetpraowfa shared that post with the message: “At first, they said it would be paid within 5 to 7 days, then they said definitely this week, but still nothing. Now there are only 10 days left until the competition. Dear executives, where do you expect us to find motivation to compete? We all have expenses, and some have children and families with even greater burdens. Please show some sympathy for us.”
