Mongkutphet posted angrily, feeling deceived by false promises about receiving a military rank, despite having served the nation and performed well throughout.
On 8 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mongkutphet Phetpraowfa, a Thai boxer recently completing her duties at the 33rd SEA Games with a silver medal, spoke amid controversy over judging fraud, with both her and “Sia Boat” Natdet Wachirattanawong believing the decision was unfair.
However, despite filing a complaint with the Sports Authority of Thailand, Dr. Sakchai Thapsuwan, president of the Amateur Muay Thai Association, insisted there was no match-fixing as some suspected.
Recently, Mongkutphet also posted angrily about being deceived with false hopes of receiving a military rank; no matter how well she performed, she was never granted the rank and had waited a long time.
On Facebook, Mongkutphet wrote, “I must speak! I have been promised a military rank for 4 years now, being told it would be granted, but I only see silence and false hopes. At first, I was determined to perform well for the Air Force Club because I wanted the rank. I have served the nation fully for 10 years, from 2015 to 2025, winning gold medals consistently. It was only two years ago that I stumbled, being eliminated early. I continued to do my duty hoping for the rank. Nor. Boonsong Nualyong has been selling us false hopes, promising the rank but nothing happened.”
