Final installment approaching! Madam Pang is close to clearing the Football Association's debt to Siam Sport, having paid the full 120 million baht in under a year.
"Madam Pang" Nualphan Lamsam, president of the Football Association of Thailand, is close to settling the association's debt to Siam Sport, as mandated by a court ruling. This debt, amounting to 120 million baht, was incurred under the previous association administration. To date, 105 million baht has been paid, starting with a personal payment of 25 million baht on 22 April 2025, leaving only the final installment of 15 million baht due in March 2026.
The dispute began in 2016 under the old association management. The court issued its official ruling in 2025 concerning lawsuits between Siam Sport suing the Football Association of Thailand and TrueVisions suing Siam Sport. The Football Association was ordered to pay Siam Sport damages of 360 million baht plus interest, and Siam Sport was required to repay TrueVisions 240 million baht plus interest.
Immediately after the court ruling, Madam Pang, who took office in 2024, engaged in full negotiations with executives from both Siam Sport and TrueVisions. She requested that neither company charge additional interest to the other. Both companies agreed to this condition for the benefit of the Football Association.
The association agreed to take responsibility for paying the principal debt that Siam Sport owed to TrueVisions, amounting to 240 million baht, on Siam Sport's behalf. This reduced the association's debt to Siam Sport from 360 million baht to 120 million baht. Under Madam Pang's leadership, the association has already paid 105 million baht to Siam Sport, leaving only the final 15 million baht installment. Payments to TrueVisions have also begun, with both Siam Sport and TrueVisions' senior executives kindly waiving interest charges.
TrueVisions, a longstanding major sponsor of the Football Association, has agreed to discussions about long-term installment payments of the debt owed by Siam Sport. This may include transferring certain rights or sponsorship benefits to TrueVisions.
Since taking office, despite facing severe financial liquidity challenges, Madam Pang has pushed forward with managing the association as best as possible within various constraints. Notably, she resolved off-field issues such as the Thai League football broadcast rights, successfully selling them to AIS-GULF-JAS for 2 billion baht over a four-year contract (2025/26-2028/29) at 500 million baht per year with an option to renew for two additional seasons. She also increased club support funds across all three leagues: Thai League 1 from 10 million baht to 15 million, Thai League 2 from 3 million to 4 million, and Thai League 3 from 1 million to 1.25 million baht, paid in four timely installments. Additionally, professional men's and women's leagues were broadcast fully for the first time in history, and sponsorships were secured for all three professional leagues, from Thai League 1 to 3.
Madam Pang's achievements extend internationally, including hosting the 2024 FIFA Congress, the 2024 AFC Congress, and the 2025 AFF Congress. Thailand is also set to host the AFC Awards on 19 November 2026. The Football Association received the AFC Diamond Best Football Association Award consecutively in 2024 and 2025. Importantly, FIFA appointed Madam Pang as chair of the FIFA Development Committee for 2025-2029, making her the world's first woman to hold this position.
In youth football, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has supported the U21 League, and Coca-Cola has sponsored the U17 Thailand Championship for the first time. Discussions are also underway with Channel 7 to co-organize the U19 Thailand Championship.
