Sympathetic "Supergirl" opens up fully about her reasons for retiring after losing at ONE Fight Night 41.
On 14 March 2026, "Supergirl," a female Thai fighter, spoke openly after announcing her retirement at ONE Fight Night 41: Sin Samut vs. George earlier this morning.
"Supergirl" faced "Yu Yao Pui," a female fighter from Hong Kong, under Muay Thai rules in the atomweight division (105-115 pounds). Yu Yao Pui won by TKO in the first round, finishing the fight at 1 minute 15 seconds, while "Supergirl" took the opportunity to announce her retirement at the young age of 22.
After announcing her retirement in the ring at ONE Fight Night 41, "Supergirl" opened up for the first time about her personal life, admitting she had been considering retirement long before joining ONE Championship.
"Actually, I had been thinking about retiring for about 8 years before joining ONE. I started training in Muay Thai at age 3, with both my parents happily together. But as a child, I didn’t understand that my parents had separated. I thought that boxing would bring them together during training. When I joined ONE and saw their pride, I was happy and endured everything because of that."
"But as I grew older, I realized that trying to keep them together was selfish and forced. It felt like I lost my true purpose for boxing."
"Moreover, over the past 2-3 years, I've struggled with panic attacks, depression, and insomnia. Having to fight along with criticism made me even more depressed. Thankfully, my boyfriend has supported me."
"The reason I decided to quit boxing is because I don’t want people to see a 'Supergirl' who isn’t really 'Supergirl,' and I don’t want people to remember me that way."
"I’ve never shared these things with the media before. I endured a lot and didn’t want anyone to know about this."
