The drama between Rodtang and ONE may not be over after the press conference at Jitmuangnon Gym, as there remains a 12-month contractual obligation.
On 20 April 2026, ONE Championship, led by Jitinat Atsadamongkol, President of ONE Championship Thailand, held a joint press conference with Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Somjit Waenkaew, head of Jitmuangnon Gym, and Suntaree Lohapreut, also known as "Sor Ae," gym head and promoter at Jitmuangnon Gym, at the gym itself to discuss and clarify the conclusion of the "Rodtang Jitmuangnon" legal dispute.
All negotiations went smoothly, confirming that the fight between Rodtang and Takeru on 29 April at ONE SAMURAI 1 in Japan will definitely take place.
However, Nick Atkins, a combat sports journalist and insider on ONE Championship news, stated that Thai media misreported the press conference by claiming that everything had been settled, causing confusion as it implied Rodtang and ONE had fully resolved their issues, but the truth is the matter is not yet concluded.
Reports revealed that Rodtang’s three demands have not yet received written acceptance from ONE. While Rodtang wishes to be independent and not tied to anyone, there remains an obligation from the original contract signed: an exclusive negotiation period granting ONE sole rights to negotiate a new contract for 12 months.
This means there may be further negotiations on this matter after the Rodtang vs. Takeru fight on 29 April.
