Amnat Ruenroeng, former IBF world boxing champion, returned to the ring and won by knockout in the 2nd round.

On 22 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Amnat Ruenroeng, former IBF world boxing champion and former Thai national boxer, made his comeback by fighting Payak Khun on 21 Apr at Koh Loy, Sriracha.

Previously, Amnat had health problems, struggled with alcoholism, and exhibited violent behavior, losing control and causing local complaints. He was arrested by police four times. Most recently, in February, he experienced chills, fever, and a knee wound. When asked, Amnat said he had been bitten by a dog but did not inform anyone.

At age 46, Amnat appeared much improved physically, skillfully using punches, kicks, and knees, before successfully knocking out Payak Khun in the 2nd round.

This marks an important step for Amnat, as boxing fans have witnessed and praised his turnaround and redemption.
