Chinese Boxer Confident of 100% Victory Over Superbon, Warns Against Hugging in the Ring

Liu Meng Yang, a Chinese boxer, proclaimed he is 100% confident of defeating Superbon, stating that hugging should be avoided in the ring.

On 24 April 2026, Superbon of Superbon Training Camp, the ONE Kickboxing Featherweight World Champion (145-155 lbs), is set to defend his title against the fierce challenger Liu Meng Yang at The Inner Circle event, taking place at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium (Ramintra) on Friday, 22 May.

However, Liu Meng Yang, who recently defeated Tawanchai P.K. Saenchai to earn this world title shot, openly expressed his bold views about Superbon.

“Regarding the fight with Superbon, I believe I have a 100% chance of winning. My coach has carefully planned the strategy for facing Superbon, and I am ready for the battle.”

“Superbon’s technical style is very different. He wins fights by the rules. If you are called a Muay Thai legend, you must act like a man and bravely fight in the ring. Don’t treat it like a fan meeting, hugging each other in the ring. I’ve nicknamed him ‘Super Hug’.”

“In the fight where Superbon defeated Noiri, he fought like a wild animal but used no real technique—nothing more than hugging and running. If there’s evidence, come and see it. He exploits loopholes in the rules. Without those loopholes, I think the fight wouldn’t last beyond three rounds. Superbon’s style is to catch and counter from a distance, avoiding direct confrontation, which is boring and unlike Tawanchai.”

“Thank you to the fans for their support. I will bring the championship belt back to China on 22 May.”
