Heated confrontation before the start: "Rodtang" faces off against "Takeru" ahead of the ONE Samurai 1 battle (Video).
On 24 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, a top Muay Thai fighter, faced off with Takeru Segawa, a superstar fighter from Japan, for the first time after arriving in Japan. They are set to clash fiercely at ONE Samurai 1 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan at 12:30 GMT+7.
This is a rematch between Takeru and Rodtang after the Japanese fighter was knocked out in the first round at 1 minute 20 seconds during ONE 172 in Thailand on 23 Mar 2025, under kickboxing rules.
Recently, Rodtang Jitmuangnon went on stage to directly confront Takeru Segawa, and both heated the atmosphere at the press conference. Rodtang charged forward, leading to Takeru pushing back with his forehead.
Chatri Sityodtong, ONE Championship's CEO standing between Rodtang and Takeru, quickly intervened to separate them just in time. This served as an intense prelude before their actual fight.
Takeru, age 34, has declared he will exact revenge on Rodtang to claim the interim ONE Kickboxing Flyweight World Championship belt before retiring perfectly in the main event of ONE Samurai 1 on Wednesday, 29 Apr GMT+7.
