"Rodtang" boldly issues a fierce challenge to "Takeru" ahead of their ONE Samurai 1 rematch (Video).
On 24 April 2026, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, the top Thai fighter, sent a battle challenge to Takeru Segawa, the superstar fighter from Japan, at the ONE Samurai 1 press conference before their heated showdown at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, scheduled for Wednesday, 29 April at 12:30 GMT+7.
Today, Rodtang Jitmuangnon had the chance to face Takeru Segawa directly for the first time since arriving in Japan, ahead of their rematch. The Japanese fighter previously suffered a first-round knockout loss to Rodtang at 1 minute 20 seconds during ONE 172 in Thailand on 23 March 2025, in a kickboxing rules bout.
Earlier, 34-year-old Takeru announced his intent to avenge Rodtang and win the ONE Kickboxing Flyweight World Championship interim belt before retiring perfectly in the main event of ONE Samurai 1.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon responded aggressively by delivering a challenge to Takeru on the press conference stage, saying, "I'm glad to be the last opponent Takeru will face. I hope the fight on 29 April will definitely be exciting."
"If we want to raise the stakes, I'd like to ask Takeru: he may have lost to me in the first fight, but this time I’m giving him a chance to redeem himself. How about we test ourselves under international rules for 2 rounds?"
