Rodtang Jitmuangnon's loss to Takeru Segawa meant he missed the chance to claim the interim ONE Kickboxing Flyweight World Championship belt. It also served as revenge for Takeru, who had been shockingly knocked out by Rodtang in just 80 seconds in their first fight back in March last year. This fight also marked a perfect farewell to Takeru Segawa's fighting career.
