Following the event where 34-year-old Japanese superstar fighter Takeru Segawa knocked out Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the main event of ONE Samurai 1, he claimed the ONE Kickboxing Flyweight World Championship belt at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, marking a grand farewell in his final professional fight.
Recently, Takeru opened up that his wife, Aoi Kawaguchi, was the key figure behind his success in this fight.
“My wife reduced her work about two or three months before my fight, and during my weight cut, she went shopping and prepared meals for me every day starting at noon.”
“She might have wanted to return to work because she knew after having a child she might not be able to, but she dedicated that time to me and supported me so I could perform at my best.”
