Takeru Segawa admitted that he once thought he would never lose before competing in ONE.
On 3 May 2026 GMT+7, Takeru Segawa became widely discussed after winning by TKO against Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the 5th round to claim the interim ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship at ONE SAMURAI 1.
However, before winning this title, Takeru faced obstacles and inconsistent performance, having lost 2 out of 4 fights in ONE to Superlek and Rodtang.
Takeru spoke about his mindset, saying he once truly believed he would never lose to anyone—until he started fighting in ONE, where everything changed completely.
“Coming to ONE made me truly realize my own weaknesses. When I was winning consecutively, I really thought I would never lose. But here, I discovered my vulnerabilities. I accept both the weaknesses I felt in ONE and the reality that my body is gradually deteriorating.”
