The announcement came from Chatri Sityodtong, Chairman and CEO of ONE Championship, who confirmed that Takeru will join the Hall of Fame alongside legends like Demetrious Johnson, Bibiano Fernandes, and Aung La Nsang.

Additionally, Takeru is scheduled to participate in the "10 Gong Salute" ceremony—an honor involving ten gong strikes to recognize great fighters—at ONE Samurai 4 this October, marking a dignified farewell to his professional career.

Chatri also praised Takeru as a fighter the world will always remember for his spirit, fighting power, and emotional moments in the ring, especially highlighting his recent pivotal fight where, despite being the underdog, he miraculously secured victory and ended his career on a perfect note.

"In my view, that was the best version of Takeru the world has ever seen," Chatri stated, emphasizing that the Japanese fighter deserves to be recorded as one of the greatest world champion kickboxers in the history of the sport.

Takeru built his reputation by winning multiple K-1 championships before stepping onto the global stage with ONE Championship, leaving an undeniable mark in the history of world kickboxing.
