Nobuyuki Sakakibara, CEO of the RIZIN Fighting Federation, a leading Japanese fighting organization, confirmed that the rumors about signing Rodtang Jitmuangnon are not true.
On 14 May 2026, developments regarding Rodtang Jitmuangnon followed his TKO loss to Takeru Segawa under kickboxing rules in the ONE Samurai 1 event on 29 April.
Previously, there were rumors that RIZIN, the major Japanese martial arts organization, was interested in Rodtang after he had contractual issues with ONE prior to his recent fight against Takeru.
Nobuyuki Sakakibara, CEO of RIZIN Fighting Federation, openly admitted that it is unlikely to see Rodtang Jitmuangnon, former ONE Muay Thai Flyweight World Champion, fighting in RIZIN soon, after ONE Championship sent a clear legal notice warning that Rodtang remains under contract and must not be approached.
Sakakibara said, "At this point, it's hard to imagine. We have been legally informed by ONE's legal team that Rodtang is a contracted fighter with ONE and must not be touched." He added that he is not particularly interested in signing Rodtang because Rodtang is not an MMA fighter.
