Relatives Fear Outburst as Video Shows Former World Champion Boxer Amnat Ruenroeng Using Drugs at Home

Relatives posted a video showing Amnat Ruenroeng, former world boxing champion, using drugs at home, raising fears of a violent episode.

On 18 May 2026 GMT+7, developments concerning Amnat Ruenroeng, former Thai national amateur boxer and IBF 112-pound world champion, were reported. He has previously been arrested four times after incidents involving intoxication and causing disturbances that troubled local residents.

Recently, Facebook user Methasit Raha, a relative of Amnat, posted a video showing the former world champion smoking drugs inside his house, accompanied by the message:

“Is this the person deserving of opportunities? Is this the person the Sriracha police are powerless against? Is this the member of society who, despite so many chances, never changes? He becomes a burden on others and on society, yet we are forced to watch him use drugs openly like this. It’s gone too far. When we called the police to report drug use at home, they did not intervene. What options do we have to get him away? When we try to talk to him, problems arise, and any mistake could happen. We still have responsibilities to care for him.”

“But facing situations like this is unbearable. There’s constant shouting and chaos. We need to work and rest. Neighbors also need peace and rest. Do we have to wait until he loses control and kills someone before the law can act? #IfTheEvidenceIsThisClearAndTheLawDoesNothingIAdmitDefeat #SrirachaPoliceStation #SrirachaPolice #SaveOpportunitiesForOthers”
