Somrak Kamsing insists he is not boasting and believes Nabil will win a gold medal at the 2028 Olympics.
On 26 August 2026, after Nabil Anan, former Muay Thai world bantamweight champion of ONE Championship, agreed to enter the selection process for Thailand’s national amateur boxing team, aiming to compete at the 2028 Olympics in the United States.
Recently, Nabil visited the new amateur boxing training center of the Amateur Boxing Association of Thailand at the Sports Authority of Thailand in Huamark, where he met the national amateur boxing coaches and demonstrated his skills in front of the media.
Somrak Kamsing, former Thai national amateur boxer and 1996 Olympic gold medalist in Atlanta, USA, said, “Seeing his readiness and style, it’s clearly Olympic gold. I am confident personally—he’s complete in every way, including height and name recognition. If it were an unknown, it would be different, but with Nabil, we should be afraid. I saw him fight Superlek—long exchanges, punching Superlek, who is a top fighter. I confidently predict Olympic gold. I’m not boasting; this is the truth. The boxing association is fully prepared now, with training venues and finances. Thailand will head to this Olympics with confidence and hope.”
