World-Stopping Fight: Details Revealed as Pacquiao Prepares for Floyd Rematch

They're back! "Floyd-Pacquiao" sign a second rematch, scheduled for 19 September at The Sphere, broadcast live on Netflix.

On 24 February 2026, after more than a decade of anticipation, two boxing legends, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., officially announced their rematch. The professional boxing bout will take place in Las Vegas on 19 September, featuring a state-of-the-art venue and global streaming.

ESPN reported confirmation of the highly anticipated rematch between two of the greatest boxing legends of the era: Floyd Mayweather Jr., undefeated with a 50-0 record, and "The Pacman" Manny Pacquiao. This fight will mark a historic moment for boxing, held at The Sphere, an ultra-modern venue in Las Vegas, and will be a full professional boxing match affecting both fighters' official records.

Looking back at their first encounter in 2015, hailed as the "Fight of the Century," Floyd, the underdog, won by unanimous decision. However, the verdict was widely disputed by boxing fans worldwide, sparking intense criticism that Floyd "did not deserve to win" that bout.

Facing heavy criticism and controversy at the time, Floyd shocked the boxing world by immediately relinquishing his WBO world title shortly after defeating Pacquiao. This move aimed to resolve conflicts with boxing organizations and quell backlash from fans who felt his victory lacked honor.

This rematch, with both fighters nearing 50 years old, will make history by taking place at The Sphere, a giant, ultra-modern dome in Las Vegas. It will be the first professional boxing event held at this venue. Additionally, the fight will be broadcast live on the major platform Netflix, expected to generate massive revenue.

Pacquiao expressed, "This fight is for the boxing fans who have waited so long. I will completely erase all doubts from the previous fight." Meanwhile, Floyd, coming out of retirement to lace up again, is confident: "The same story will play again, and I will remain the winner as before."
