Rodtang Jitmuangnon Speaks Out Fully to Media After ONE Championship Sues Him for 641 Million Baht (Video)

Rodtang Jitmuangnon spoke openly to the media after being sued by ONE Championship for 641 million baht, affirming his continued respect and willingness to negotiate at all times.

On 18 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, the Thai fighter, openly addressed the press and supporters at his home for the first time since ONE Championship filed lawsuits seeking damages estimated at around 20 million U.S. dollars, approximately 641 million baht, across three countries: Thailand, Japan, and Singapore.

This figure stems from an assessment of reputational damage to the organization due to Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s live broadcasts, posted images and messages, as well as issues regarding alleged forged signatures. ONE Championship views these actions as damaging to their reputation and multiple contract breaches.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon stated, “I am simply defending my rights and standing for what is right. I am an athlete; I want to fight only in the ring. I don't want to argue with anyone. I just want my rights to be respected. Whatever the other side decides, our legal team has a clear approach. We have been quietly communicating for a long time. We have great respect for P'Chatri (Sityodtong). We have talked extensively, but things have come to this point.”

“Regarding the 20-30 signature points in question, I had requested documents for a long time but received no progress. I have always respected that side, but it felt like asking someone without a soul. We only got the documents late last year, and there are still points needing further explanation. I am always ready to negotiate with them.”

“As for moving to fight elsewhere, I haven’t considered that because I always respect ONE Championship. I believe the whole country’s support is still with me. I’m ready to bring victories back to the Thai people. But I am a boxer, not a promoter. I train every day. If asked about lessons learned after this, it would be a standard for juniors to be more thorough and careful about everything they sign.”

Santiwat Sangwan, Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s lawyer, said, “Currently, legal actions are underway in multiple jurisdictions—Thailand, Singapore, and Japan. The case is in court processes. We respect the justice system and will not discuss details prematurely. We firmly assert that there is clear and sufficient evidence for the courts to fully consider all issues.”

“Regarding the fight in Japan, Rodtang firmly intends to travel and compete as scheduled on 29 April. However, we are currently coordinating with ONE Championship’s legal team to confirm if the fight can proceed. The message seems to indicate a temporary suspension of contract enforcement, and we are requesting the complete original signed contract from 2022. I must first discuss this with ONE Championship in Singapore to clarify.”
“Because the current contract may be incomplete.”

“Previously, Rodtang only received a copy of the contract taken from the original, sent by email in 2025 GMT+7, showing only Rodtang’s signature on one side. ONE Championship had not signed it. This raises significant concerns because of the lack of a signed contract. We requested the original evidence today.”

“Regarding rumors that Rodtang might fight elsewhere for better pay, we are trying to negotiate contract improvements. Rodtang’s team thanks everyone for their support. As for signing contracts, there is actually only one contract but over 20 pages. There may have been misunderstandings, but Rodtang confirms he signed only the final page.”

Meanwhile, Tanong Saejiew, another lawyer on Rodtang Jitmuangnon’s team, said, “ONE Championship is a good organization, and we have always respected Chatri Sityodtong. We are not fighting ONE Championship but fighting for what is right. I just want the contract negotiations to be fair, not unequal.”
