Aoi Kawaguchi, Takeru's wife, posted a touching message after her husband placed his ONE World Championship belt on the highest shelf in their home.
On 30 Apr 2026 GMT+7, after Rodtang Jitmuangnon was knocked out in the 5th round by Takeru Segawa in the flyweight kickboxing division at ONE SAMURAI 1, it marked Takeru's farewell fight and his successful capture of the interim world championship.
This also served as revenge against Rodtang Jitmuangnon, as in their first fight at ONE 172, Takeru was knocked out in the first round in just 80 seconds.

Aoi posted, “You kept the top shelf empty all this time to win the ONE belt. Seeing him place the championship belt, fought for with his life, is the happiest image I've ever seen. Congratulations on this achievement from the bottom of my heart.”
