Rodtang Jitmuangnon Opens Up After Returning to Thailand, Reflects on Loss to Takeru and Shares Future Goals

Thai fighter Rodtang Jitmuangnon opened up after returning to Thailand, reflecting on every aspect of his loss to Takeru Segawa and revealing his future goals.

On 1 May 2026, Rodtang Jitmuangnon spoke candidly after flying back to Thailand, recalling all perspectives of his defeat to Japanese fighter Takeru Segawa in the fifth round at the ONE Samurai event held at Ariake Arena in Tokyo on 29 April. He also shared his goals moving forward.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon stated, “I was aware of my own condition. Today, I have to accept the defeat. Of course, every fighter knows that this is a sport, and sports have wins and losses. Today I lost, but next time I might win. I believe that if everything goes well and is in order...”

“I still have confidence in myself. I’m still hungry for victory as always, ready to serve my country and all Thai people to bring them victories. As for Takeru Segawa and me, we have been exchanging messages. It’s a good friendship, and I think it’s great that he was able to end his career beautifully. We must admire him.”
