Somrak Kamsing is coordinating with Lamnamoonlek, the next Thai boxer following Nabil Anan, for the national amateur boxing team selection targeting the 2028 Olympics.
On 20 August 2026, after Nabil Anan, former Muay Thai bantamweight world champion, announced his readiness to try out for Thailand's national amateur boxing team in the 70 kg category to compete at the 2028 Olympics in the United States.
Behind this initiative is Somrak Kamsing, former Olympic gold medalist in 1996, who currently serves as an advisor to the Boxing Association of Thailand.
In addition, Somrak aims to recruit Lamnamoonlek, also known as Thedeed99, former RWS champion now competing in ONE Championship, to try out for the Thai national team in the 65 kg category with hopes to compete in the 2028 Olympics.
Lamnamoonlek said, “There’s an event on 25 September, postponed from the 11th. I want to go to the 2028 Olympics. If there’s a chance in the 65 kg category, I’m interested.”
