On 30 August 2026, updates on Nabil Anan, former ONE Championship Muay Thai bantamweight world champion, reveal he has accepted to try out for Thailand's national amateur boxing team with hopes of competing at the 2028 Olympics in the United States.
Recently, Mr. Pong, a famous boxing commentator, met with Somrak Kamsing, the 1996 Olympic gold medalist and current advisor to the Thailand Amateur Boxing Association. Somrak shared plans to meet Saeng-Athit Luksai Kongdin's father to recruit him for the national amateur boxing team and also provided the latest update on Nabil Anan's situation.
Somrak Kamsing stated, "I will visit the Luksai Kongdin boxing camp. I have an appointment with Saeng-Athit's father to discuss recruiting him for the Thailand national amateur boxing team."
"Nabil might fight representing the Police Club and could become Police Lieutenant Nabil. I asked Nabil if he wanted to be in the military or police, and he said he wants to be a police officer. That’s fine, but he must perform well first. He won’t be able to compete for the Thailand championship in September because in October he has a Muay Thai fight, and after that, he will enter the amateur boxing program."
