Chinese Fighter Speaks Out After Breaking Tawanchais Leg, Faces Long Recovery

Liu Meng Yang gave an interview after breaking Tawanchai's leg in the first round.

On 21 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the featherweight kickboxing event at the year-end ONE Lumpinee 137 featured a highlight main event with Tawanchai P.K. Saenchai Muaythai Gym, the Muay Thai featherweight world champion, facing off against Liu Meng Yang, the tough and durable top fighter from China.

However, in this fight, Tawanchai was struck by an inside right kick that left him unable to stand from the first round, resulting in a shocking TKO loss that stunned Muay Thai fans nationwide. Reports confirmed Tawanchai suffered a broken leg, requiring an extended recovery period.

Liu Meng Yang opened up about the incident, saying, "Honestly, I was very happy to have won against Tawanchai, but even more so, I am concerned about his injury. When he fell and was carried out, I sensed it was very serious. I hope Tawanchai recovers quickly and returns to the ring again. Stay strong."

Liu Meng Yang's next goal is to challenge Superbon Superbon Training Camp, who currently holds the featherweight kickboxing world title.
