A Cambodian page used AI to create a fake passport image claiming Buakaw Banchamek is Cambodian; he has now responded to the post.
On 22 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Facebook page Army Military Force posted that the Cambodian IO page stirred controversy by using AI to create a fake passport image attacking Buakaw. They falsely tried to convince Cambodians that Buakaw is Cambodian, citing alleged evidence showing he holds a special Cambodian passport, claiming Buakaw is not Thai. Banchamek Gym (Buakaw Banchamek) was mentioned.
Previously, some Cambodians claimed Buakaw was Cambodian, even though in reality this beloved Thai boxer is ethnically Kuy and was born in Surin province, Thailand.
However, when Buakaw saw AI-generated false information circulating online, he posted: “Don’t tell me people believe this. If you believe, press 類; if not, press .”
