Amnat Ruenroeng has entered alcohol addiction treatment with Dr. Pla in Phetchaburi Province.
On 23 December 2025 GMT+7, after Amnat Ruenroeng, former IBF world boxing champion, repeatedly caused disturbances while intoxicated due to overwhelming life problems, police had to intervene multiple times in Chonburi Province.
Previously, various parties tried to help; for example, "Sia Boat" Natdet Wachiraratwong, a young promoter from Petchyindee camp, offered him a trainer role at the camp. The Mixed Martial Arts Association of Thailand also brought him on as a boxing coach. However, he was ultimately unable to continue these roles due to severe alcohol addiction.
Recently, Amnat Ruenroeng has decided to undergo treatment for his alcohol addiction, with Dr. Pla overseeing his care to help improve his condition.
It remains to be seen whether Amnat, who has experience in both professional and amateur boxing, can return to the path he truly desires.
