A drunk man assaulted a football player, turning the incident viral as netizens wondered why such behavior was allowed.
On 30 Jan 2026, during the touring Thung Kong Cup football competition in Tak Province about three days ago, a viral incident occurred on social media when a man suddenly kicked a football player in the face on the field, causing a split lip. The assailant was reportedly still intoxicated.
Recently, Facebook user Peerapong Promprang posted, "Hello, I am the caretaker and manager of the Nong Copter football team. I feel very saddened and disappointed with the event organizers for their lack of decisiveness and neglect. They did not prevent or restrain the opposing team and allowed drunk and unrelated persons to be near the sidelines, which led to this altercation. From now on, I will pursue legal action against the person who harmed a player on my team to the fullest extent and will not accept any settlement. Thank you."
Thairath Sport news team has reported that on Sunday, 1 Feb, the event organizers and the offender will visit the victim's home to resolve the matter and provide compensation.
