The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and the Muay Thai Sports Committee (WMC) organized a training course for foreign Muay Thai coaches in Phuket, reflecting the international success of Muay Thai.
On 3 February 2026, the Muay Thai Sports Committee (WMC) and the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) conducted the Muay Thai Instructor Course for Foreigners 2025 at Dara Hotel in Phuket. The course attracted over 100 participants, including foreigners residing in Thailand and those traveling from abroad, demonstrating the popularity and trust in the Muay Thai curriculum certified by the Sports Authority of Thailand.
Mr. Natthaphon Antarsen, Director of the Muay Thai Sports Committee, stated that this training is part of efforts to elevate Muay Thai standards globally by imparting accurate academic knowledge and the unique identity of Muay Thai. Foreign participants will gain knowledge, skills, teaching principles, and techniques to properly train Muay Thai athletes both domestically and internationally. This includes skills in Muay Thai, use of training equipment, and understanding the sport's competition rules, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and standards of Muay Thai coaching.
Mr. Theerawat Silpa-acha, Director of the Muay Thai Sports Promotion Division at WMC, added that the training was conducted under the theme "Discover. Train. Inspire." It aims to build a network of knowledgeable and standardized foreign Muay Thai coaches. Over 10 experienced licensed Muay Thai instructors served as trainers. The course covered all aspects of Muay Thai, both theory and practice. Graduates receive certification to support their professional careers or to promote Muay Thai appropriately overseas.
The basic-level Muay Thai Instructor Course for Foreigners was held from 3 to 7 February 2026, focusing on foundational Muay Thai knowledge. The program aims to develop Muay Thai personnel and continuously expand the sport's international network.
