
The Muay Thai Sports Committee is advancing the international standards of Muay Thai by hosting the opening ceremony for the "Muay Thai Instructor Course (Introductory Level) for foreigners 2025" in Pattaya, Chonburi Province.
On 9 February 2026 at Boutique City Hotel, Pattaya, the opening ceremony for the foreign Muay Thai instructor training course (introductory level) was held. The event was honored by the attendance of senior executives led by Mr. Nithipong Kimawaha, Head of Standards and Monitoring for Muay Thai Sports at the Muay Thai Sports Committee, Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT); Mr. Peerawat Mongkolsilp, Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand, Chonburi Province; and Mr. Chaiyo Prowsri, Sports Promotion Officer of the Muay Thai Sports Committee (Skom).
This program takes place from 9 to 13 February 2026, aiming to encourage interested foreigners in martial arts to learn and correctly transmit the art of Muay Thai according to the standards and regulations of the Muay Thai Sports Committee. Participants will practice techniques with professional Muay Thai instructors in both theory and practical sessions. Upon passing the evaluation, they will receive an official certificate from the Muay Thai Sports Committee and the Sports Authority of Thailand, which serves as formal recognition of their competence.
Mr. Nithipong Kimawaha, Head of Standards and Monitoring for Muay Thai Sports at Skom, SAT, stated that this foreign Muay Thai instructor training program was organized to elevate knowledge and strengthen the capabilities of foreign Muay Thai instructors, alongside promoting continuous and sustainable development of Muay Thai. Expert licensed instructors with direct experience and knowledge of Muay Thai were invited to share their expertise to create a unified standard of instruction. The curriculum has been designed to cover all aspects of Muay Thai in both theoretical and practical dimensions.
This marks an important step in enhancing and strengthening the Muay Thai community on the international stage.
