
Amnat Ruengroeng has returned to being a Muay Thai coach, training new fighters after previously causing disturbances while drunk and being arrested by police four times.
On 17 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Amnat Ruengroeng, former IBF flyweight world champion at 112 pounds and former amateur boxer for Thailand’s national team, who previously struggled with alcohol addiction and was so intoxicated that locals had to alert police to detain him, was arrested for the fourth time.
Many people have expressed concern for Amnat Ruengroeng and have offered him opportunities in various professions or assistance, including from "Sie Boat" Natdech Wachirattanawong, the Mixed Martial Arts Association, Rang Pranakorn, and others.
Recently, the Phat Muay Thai Kiatmuslim gym posted a video showing Amnat Ruengroeng’s return to the Muay Thai scene as a coach teaching young people, a profession he is skilled at.
All eyes are on whether Amnat will be able to change himself as those in the boxing community and fans hope, so he can stand on his own feet once more.
