Clarification from Rodtang, Former Muay Thai World Champion, Clearly Responds to Whether He Chooses Opponents (Video)

Rodtang Jitmuangnon confirms he has never chosen his opponents and always gives his full effort in every fight.

On 18 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, former ONE Muay Thai Flyweight World Champion, went live to address several topics, including his fight fees and the relatively low number of bouts. He affirmed having no issues with the organizers and mentioned that an opponent is ready for him to enter the ring, pending an official announcement.

Rodtang spoke about his catchy captions that caused concern about potential drama, revealing they were created with ChatGPT. He explained that when driving, he would think about writing such captions, and the system would generate them accordingly. Despite a drop in his page views, he confirmed having no problems with ONE and that he talks to Chatri daily. Their relationship remains good, and he still respects Chatri, who understands fighters and their lives.

When asked about his frustrations over recent months, Rodtang replied, "I am a fighter who wants to have matches. Sometimes it takes a long time, and mistakes can happen. Fighters who compete regularly can keep their bodies active. Regarding fight fees, I don't know the team's criteria; they might consider suitability. I assure you I don't expect to earn tens of millions every fight. Some say I was upset for not receiving 10 million baht. I wasn't serious about that. Since Chatri announced I earned 10 million baht after beating Edgar Tabarez, some fights afterward paid less, like the one against Nong-O, but I still signed to fight, trained, and was ready to fly out. Who trains so hard and then refuses to fight? But ONE's doctor wouldn't clear me to fight to protect the athlete when seeing my condition. I called my team to ask to watch the next day's fights. I want to fight, but my body didn't allow it."

Rodtang continued, explaining that each fight involves expenses for trainers, nutritionists, and food. What many see him eating in clips is post-fight; during training camps, he follows a clean diet set by the nutritionist. Regarding flights, he pays to upgrade his seat for comfort and brings his wife and family along. Once money is credited, taxes must be paid—there's no tax evasion. He receives payment through his camp leader, not directly. In summary, he doesn't earn as much per fight as many think. Nowadays, he supports many people and does not abandon his family.

The former flyweight world champion added, "I can fight anytime. When I fought Muay Thai, I fought every month, 13–14 fights a year, whether small or big events. I could fight anyone. I have no right to refuse any opponent. When I faced Demetrious Johnson, who was caught in a locked choke, I knew I lost, but I never refused to fight."
