Takeru Segawa revealed that Superlek was the fighter who caused him the most damage before preparing to face Rodtang at ONE SAMURAI 1.
On 22 April 2026, an eagerly anticipated fight for Thai fans is set: Rodtang Jitmuangnon versus Takeru Segawa at ONE SAMURAI 1 on 29 April in Japan.
Before the fight, a Japanese media outlet asked Takeru Segawa who was the strongest fighter he had ever faced.
Takeru admitted that Thai fighters have shown great strength, especially Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmuu9.
Looking back at his ONE debut fight, where he lost to Superlek, Takeru was shocked to realize there were fighters this strong.
"I was very surprised that such a strong fighter exists in the world (Superlek Kiatmuu9). It was my first ONE fight and I lost. In the first round, I broke a bone in my leg. I blocked but got hit in the weakest bone area. Honestly, I had never been kicked that low before. After the fight, I couldn't walk and had to use crutches because my thigh muscle was torn. It took about three months before I could bend my knee normally."
