How is "Rodtang" moving ahead of the weigh-in for his fight against "Takeru" at ONE Samurai 1?
On 27 April 2026, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, the top Thai fighter, shared his latest update on personal social media ahead of tomorrow's weigh-in as he prepares to face his old rival Takeru Segawa in a rematch at ONE Samurai 1 on Wednesday, 29 April.
The two are scheduled for a rematch at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, competing for the interim ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship. Takeru Segawa aims to avenge his loss to Rodtang before retiring from fighting with a perfect finale in the main event of ONE Samurai 1.
Takeru Segawa previously suffered a first-round knockout loss to Rodtang at 1 minute 20 seconds during ONE 172 in Thailand on 23 March 2025, under kickboxing rules.
However, the biggest concern for fans has been Rodtang Jitmuangnon's weight. On Sunday, 26 April, he revealed he was nearly 3 kilograms over the limit because he had to keep eating to maintain strength for training.
Most recently, Rodtang posted an update before tomorrow's weigh-in, saying, "Tomorrow is the day. As long as we work together as a team and stay committed, everything will be fine."
According to the latest reports, Rodtang's weight before his recent post was just under 2 kilograms over the limit, giving him confidence that he will make weight on time and have no issues at the weigh-in before facing Takeru.
