Both fighters recently made weight without issues and will battle for the interim ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship. Takeru Segawa seeks revenge against Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who knocked him out in the first round at 1 minute 20 seconds during ONE 172 in Thailand on 23 March 2025.

Following their conversation, Boy Thaprachan posted on his personal social media that Rodtang jokingly challenged him before facing Takeru, saying, "He called boasting that if he wins by knockout, he will take over Boy Thaprachan's football team immediately."
Previously, Boy Thaprachan privately told Rodtang he would reward him with eight boxes of One Piece cards if he knocks out Takeru, with plans to open them by the football field once back in Thailand, along with a cash bonus of 100,000 baht.
